How we help

Unresolved inheritance and Polish property

A property may still be connected with a deceased grandparent while the family has spread across several countries. We help establish a clear starting point for further work.

Build a chronology before choosing a route

Several generations of deaths, surname changes, migration and earlier proceedings can overlap in one property matter. A single family record rarely explains every link. We begin by organising the people, dates, places and documents already known.

Confirmed information needs to be separated from family recollection. A short account of the situation can help identify the questions that matter before anyone starts collecting a large archive without a plan.

The role of HEREDITAS

We connect property-related findings with genealogical and documentary research. We help identify gaps concerning people, family relationships and records. If relatives in a later generation have not been identified, that part of the history may need further investigation.

The next stage depends on your objective and the information available. We do not treat an assumption as a verified family link or promise that a complicated history can be resolved through a single document. The scope and terms of further cooperation are agreed separately.

Research and legal services have different roles

HEREDITAS organises ownership information, family history and documents. An independent law firm provides legal advice, procedural assessment or representation where required, under its own agreed terms.

Our first response explains whether the matter fits our scope and which information or next step is needed. The initial assessment is free, with a reply within 7 days of receiving your enquiry. This is a response period for the enquiry, not a promised completion date for the inheritance matter.

What to include in your enquiry

  • The property’s location and the name of the relative connected with it.
  • Known dates of death and family relationships, marking any uncertain information clearly.
  • Whether earlier proceedings took place or a lawyer has already been involved.
  • What you would like to clarify or achieve, and a brief list of the documents available.

Please do not send identity document scans, national identification numbers or complete case files through the open form. We can agree how to provide any necessary records later.

Questions before you contact us

Can you review a matter involving several generations?

Multi-generation ownership and family histories fall within our areas of research. We assess whether a particular matter can be accepted from the initial description.

Must I send every certificate at the first contact?

No. Start with a description of the records and gaps. We can agree how to provide documents if they are needed for the next stage.
